Ray-Ban Project Colorize
As part of the Special Events team for Luxottica, besides engaging the all-Luxottica brand experience for sales initiatives, Ray-Ban collaborated with Marie Claire Magazine and five prominent underground artists in New York City for the Rayban Project Colorize Campaign to help launch the new Wayfarer Color Collection, on July 1.
Project Colorize features the works of artists Tara McPherson, Ron English, Queen Andrea, Scott Alger, and Toofly, on giant billboards in various locations around New York City, as part of the month-long Public Art Gallery project.
The unveiling of the billboards on July 1 was accompanied by a public stunt that literally stopped traffic on 6th Avenue. Dressed all in black and wearing colored Wayfarers, a mob of actors froze in the middle of 31st Street and Sixth Avenue to stare at artist Ron English’s billboard as it was unveiled.
The “Colorize Stunt” was followed by an after-party event at Henri Bendel on 5th Avenue and 55th Street, enjoying cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a DJ spinning music, while fans of Ray-Ban were able to shop for must-have Ray-Ban styles, including colored Wayfarers.
